KRKA NATIONAL PARK

 30 km from Rogoznica
This national park includes the last expanse of the namesake river along which there are water-falls and small lakes where you can have a bath in an environment characterized by a very luxuriant vegetation.
The park can be visited on foot or by boat; the organized tours start from Skradin, a small village situated close to the Krka's mouth.
Going back up the river by car, you can reach Visovac Lake in the middle of which, on a gorgeous island, a Franciscan Monastery of a striking visual impact stands. The monastery was built between 1445 and 1576; nowadays it is still inhabited and conserves paintings of great value.
Not far away from Krka National Park, you can reach Knin, an important town of the Serbian Kraijna, a region which, despite many years of resistance, had been definitely conquered by Croatians in 1995. Going through this area by car, you can still see the wrecks of the nearby villages, completely destroyed during the war and nowadays still abandoned.

Useful information

Inside the park restaurants, bars, and gadget shops are available.
We recommend to visit the park on foot. Venturing through nice paths and resting now and then to have a bath is really an enjoyable experience both for adults and children.
